Cochin ( Kochi )

Cochin  is the name given by The Britishes.....Kochi - Known as the  - Queen of the Arabin Sea.

Located South - West of the Arabian Sea , one of the fast growing city in South India . Also known as the Second Biggest Port of India after Bombay ( Mumbai ) .  Exporting Sea Food & Spices to Eauropean coutries , Middle eats & to America.

Where we had an influence of Arabas , Chinses , Portuguese , Ducthes & later it was Britishes........they left the marks on the History , where still the search is going on....... Also  proudly can say -  of its world class port and international airport that link it to many major cities worldwide.   Connected with domestic flights, Rail & by road  from each part of India.  

Area: 87.341 sq. kms. Comprising of mainland Ernakulam; Old Cochin including Mattancherry, Fort Cochin, Palluruthy, and Thoppumpady; Willingdon Island; the suburb of Edappally and the exurbia of Kalamassery, Thrikkakara and Kakkanad to the northeast, and Tripunithura to the southeast.

Location: Latitude, 9°57' N; Longitude, 76°15' E. The city lies between Tripunithura, the seat of the erstwhile Cochin royalty to its southeast and the Eloor-Kalamassery industrial belt to its north. To the west lies the Arabian Sea.

Climate: Summers are hot, winters mild. The summer temperatures (March to May) vary from a high of 35°C to a low of 22.5°C, with winter months from December to February having a mean minimum of 20°C. Cochin experiences both, the southwest monsoons from June to September and the northeast from October to December. The average annual rainfall is 3099.1 mm, with 132 average annual rainy days.

Season: The best time to visit is between October and March.

Clothing: The warm tropical climate recommends light cotton clothes. Waterproofing is essential during monsoons.
